What is Meenakari?
Meenakari is the art of enamelling metal. Ground mineral colours are laid into channels engraved in gold or silver and fired one at a time, the most heat-resistant colour first. Jaipur is the historic centre of the red-on-gold palette. Because the enamelled face of a jewel often sits against the skin, the finest work is frequently on the side nobody sees.
