Figures that circulate and are wrong
- The collection is more than 2,500 objects. Published figures of 1,000 and 1,500 are old or mistaken.
- Solitaire prints the founder’s dates as 1904–2004. They are 1940–2004.
- One Google Arts & Culture story dates the museum to 2014 and names Arun Dhaddha as “Anil”. Both are wrong.
- Paul Mathieu is a designer. “Parisian architect”, as Business Standard has it, is the outlier.

Photographs of the collection and the building may be reproduced in editorial coverage of Gyan Museum, in print or online, provided the credit line reads “Courtesy Gyan Museum, Jaipur” and the image is not cropped across an object, altered, or used in advertising, on merchandise, or to train a machine-learning model. Boilerplate
Gyan Museum is a private museum in Sitapura, Jaipur, holding more than 2,500 objects spanning some 3,000 years across nine galleries — jewellery, silverware, textiles and costumes, paintings and manuscripts, decorative arts, coins, arms and armoury, Jain material and personal accessories. It was founded on the collection of Gyan Chand Dhaddha (1940–2004), a naturalist, collector and gemmologist who was given two silver hookah mouthpieces at sixteen and collected for five decades. His sons Suresh and Arun Dhaddha inaugurated the museum on 28 December 2015, in a single-floor building of about 15,000 square feet designed by Paul Mathieu; it opened to the public on 17 November 2016. The museum is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, by prior appointment.
