Plan my visit
Three questions, and we will tell you what is free, what you will see and how long to allow. You can skip this and use the booking form below.
Pick any day. The museum is closed on Sunday.
What a visit is like
A visit is guided from beginning to end. The museum holds more than 2,500 objects, and the route runs through its galleries: jewellery, silverware, textiles and costumes, paintings and manuscripts, decorative arts, coins, arms and armoury, Jainism and accessories.
The building is a concentric design by Paul Mathieu, and it is part of what you have come to see. Most visitors take between an hour and two hours. Nobody is hurried.
Every visit is guided and booked ahead, so a member of the museum team is ready to welcome you and introduce the collection.
Accessibility
The Google Business Profile lists step-free parking, an accessible entrance and an accessible restroom. The museum's own description also speaks of a marble staircase, so we are confirming the step-free route before stating it as a promise. Tell us what you need when you book and we will answer plainly.
Facilities
There is no café inside the museum, but there are places to eat nearby. Ask the museum team for current recommendations when you book.
Getting here
The museum is 12 km from Jaipur International Airport, 5 km from Jaipur railway station and about 30 minutes from the old city. Sitapura is a working industrial estate and the museum is inside a gated zone, so the address is worth having in writing before you set out.
Groups, schools and research
Schools, tour operators, researchers and journalists are asked to write rather than use the booking form, so that the museum can plan the visit properly.
