The collection in order
Three thousand years
The collection runs from about a thousand years before the common era to the twentieth century. This ruler is not evenly spaced: it stretches where the collection is dense and compresses where it is thin, so a century holding forty objects is wider than a century holding one.
The span the collection covers, from 1000 BCE to 2000 CE
Timeline
No object carries a date online yet
The catalogue is written object by object, and an entry is published only once its date, its materials and its photography are confirmed. The ruler above is the span the collection covers — some 2,500 objects across about three thousand years. Objects will take their places on it as they are catalogued.

Gyan Museum is open by prior appointment only. Please book before you travel.
The museum holds more than 2,500 objects across 9 galleries. The building is concentric: each gallery opens onto the next, so a visit runs as one continuous circuit. Online the same circuit is a list, and every object has a permanent address.
