What is Gangaur?
Gangaur is a Rajasthani spring festival honouring Gauri, the consort of Shiva, held over eighteen days beginning the day after Holi. Women make and dress images of Isar and Gauri in clay or wood, and processions carry them through the streets before the figures are taken to water. Jaipur’s procession leaves the City Palace.
