What is Mukhnal?
A mukhnal is the mouthpiece of a hookah: the short detachable tip through which the smoker draws, fitted to the end of the flexible pipe. Because it was personal and portable, it was made to be seen — turned in silver, enamelled, or set with stones — and was often carried separately from the hookah it served.
