What is Sarpech?
A sarpech is a turban ornament worn at the front of the turban by rulers and nobles in Mughal and Rajput India. Its form derives from the earlier jigha plume holder; a developed sarpech has a central boss, side wings and a socket to take a heron’s feather. The reverse is usually enamelled and the stones set by the kundan method.
